CS Cargo becomes main logistics partner of Lear
CS Cargo becomes main logistics partner of Lear Corporation.
PRAGUE (21 June 2011) - CS Cargo, one of the leading providers of logistics services in the CEE region, has won nearly one third of all orders in a tender held by the Lear Corporation (“Lear”). As a result, the company will for instance service the “cross-docking” warehouse in Ostrov u Stříbra as well as a direct line to Russia.
In the tender, CS Cargo won nearly one third of the transportation services for which bidders were sought. The company will consequently increase the volume of its cooperation with Lear to an annual EUR 30 million from the current EUR 20 million per year, thus becoming the main supplier of logistics and transportation services to the firm. “We have been gradually implementing these logistics services since May. We are delighted to have been so successful in the tender and to have achieved an expansion of our previous cooperation with Lear that goes back several years,” said Jiří Zrůst, CEO of the CS Cargo Group.
On the basis of the tender result, CS Cargo has become the main forwarder servicing Lear’s cross-docking warehouse for Central and Eastern Europe. The facility is located in the industrial zone of Ostrov u Stříbra. Other services to be secured by CS Cargo for Lear include shipments of goods and the provision of reusable packaging for use between all transshipment yards of the company, and the operation of several direct lines, including one to Russia. Through its Italian partner SIT Logistics, CS Cargo will also operate the majority of shipments to a cross-dock in Milan.
Overall, CS Cargo will now service 32 Lear manufacturing plants in 11 European countries.
Lear held a tender to select providers of transportation services for five of its cross-docking warehouses, Lear manufacturing plants and direct shipments between individual plants of the company, their suppliers and consumers, in March of this year. The annual turnover of all the services included in the tender amounts to a total of EUR 60 million. CS Cargo competed in the tender against other major transportation companies.
