C.S.CARGO joined the Movember campaign: despatched a special truck and raised CZK 150,859 from employees to help fight prostate cancer
C.S.CARGO joined the Movember campaign against prostate and testes cancer. A special Movember truck was sent on a November journey around Europe, clocking in more than 11,000 kilometres and visiting seven European countries. C.S.CARGO employees also raised CZK 150,859 which they donated to the Movember cause.
Since 2008, November in the Czech Republic has been the month of campaigning against prostate and testes cancer under the brand of the global non-profit Movember movement. This year, C.S.CARGO also joined the campaign and despatched, in the name of men’s health, a special truck, which took its driver Filip Moupic through most countries of Europe where Movember moustaches are being grown.
“We are in the transportation business, which made it a logical choice to promote the movement all around Europe. We believe that the special Movember truck has helped spread the message. Our driver drove more than 11,000 kilometres, grew a moustache and spread the ethos of Movember. The stopover in Brussels was especially important – the truck’s mission was covered by Radio Nostalgie; the truck also visited well-known places of interest such as the Branderburg Gate in Berlin, Arc de Triomphe in Paris or Piccadilly Circus in London,” explains the details of the truck’s journey Aziz Jahić, Marketing Director C.S.CARGO.
Wherever Filip Moupic stopped, he and his moustache-painted truck drew attention to Movember and networked with the campaign’s supporters.
“I get to meet lots of people and visit many towns this way. I am happy to have been able to do something for a good cause – when people saw the truck with a moustache, they came in droves to say hello,” comments the driver Filip Moupic.
Other employees of the company also joined the Movember supporters. They grew moustaches and raised money for the Movember cause. The fundraiser fetched CZK 150,859, which rates the C.S.CARGO employee pool among the top contributors – the team came third in the national league.
The November journey finally ended in the company’s HQ base in Jičín. After a welcome from equally moustachioed colleagues, a joint shaving event followed together with a blood testing for PSA (Prostate-specific Antigen) in blood. The testing was done for free by Euroclinicum, one of the leading healthcare providers in the Czech Republic. On the national scale, prostate cancer is the most common malign form of cancer in men and the third most common oncological cause of male death.
