In 2019, the C.S.CARGO Group achieved sales of CZK 4.8 billion
Prague, 16 June 2020 - In 2019, the transport and logistics group C.S.CARGO earned a total of 4.8 billion crowns from all its activities. Profitability in the EBITDA indicator increased to 404 million crowns. The group recorded growth in the logistics segment. Maritime transport and air cargo have risen by 13%.
In 2019, the C.S.CARGO group invested over 80 million crowns mainly in new IT technologies and fleet modernization. Last year, C.S.CARGO developed software for its partner carriers and suppliers that significantly streamlines and facilitates the process of joint work and coordination. Towards the end of 2019, C.S.CARGO successfully began negotiations on the implementation of eCMR.
Compared to the previous year, 2019 did not bring significant changes in trends in logistics. However, the gradual expansion in maritime and air transport has proved to be an appropriate step. "Last year was a successful year. Although you are never done in logistics and transport, we have moved closer to our customers, we have worked on technologies and we have been able to make our offer more attractive to our customers by using synergies to improve the group's cooperation," explains Aleš Willert, CEO at C.S.CARGO Group, Vice President and Chairman of the Freight Transport Section of the ČESMAD BOHEMIA Association. The group began to function better on the principle of "best practice", which brought more effective coordination between the Czech, Slovak and Polish branches.
C.S.CARGO was intensively preparing for Brexit in 2019 that was not brought to realization. The group will use the prepared measures in the current year. Legislation in the field of logistics is a key factor for the company. “Recently, our business environment has been strongly influenced by the legislative regulation of the European Union in a rather negative sense. That is why I very much appreciate the shift in negotiations on the so-called Road Package. I believe that the approval process will be completed later this year and that common rules for transport throughout Europe will finally be clearly defined," admits Aleš Willert, CEO of the C.S.CARGO Group.
The first half of 2020 brought an unexpected situation in the form of the COVID-19 pandemic. On account of government measures and social needs, the C.S.CARGO Group used its own capacities and possibilities to the maximum and provided supplies and other services through its employees. "Transport and logistics are at the end of the supply chain. This means that we are always at the forefront and we are forced to respond to economic and market developments, including this exceptional situation. Sometimes transport is forgotten, or the public is only critical of it. It has now become clear that without transport, nothing can move and belongs to the critical infrastructure of the state. And many thanks to all those who helped secure key operations during this challenging time," concludes Aleš Willert, CEO of the C.S.CARGO Group.

“Every nation has its heroes. We will not forget”. For the republic’s centennial, C.S.CARGO is presenting the stories of heroes and heroines of the past century in cooperation with Memory of Nations
Prague, 24 October 2018 – In cooperation with Memory of Nations, C.S.CARGO has prepared a special project commemorating the 100th anniversary of the republic. In connection with the initials C.S. in the company’s name symbolising Czechoslavia, C.S.Cargo wants to celebrate the centennial in an original way, by giving ten of its trucks the names of ten heroes of the past century. It thus wants to expand everyday awareness of the actions of well-known and completely unknown people whose courage and steadfastness can serve as an example for everyone in every era. After all, the history of our nation is not formed only by people on a pedestal, but by each of us.
