Electronic data interchange
EDI – web
EDI - Web assures the effective exchange of electronic data between our information systems and those of our customers. The client can choose between the standard EDI or use web-based services. This communication channel can handle orders, invoices, order processing information, data synchronization, and other operations.
C.S.CARGO's development team is very flexible and communication can be customized according to the customer's needs.
Details of the EDI – Web system
EDI interface
- EDI communication is the electronic exchange of documents according to given norms and rules between two EDI servers (each party has a server and integrated EDI manager that handles data transformation and exchange).
- The system uses a number of communication protocols (i.e. OFTP, OFTP2) that handle data transfers and completion checks.
- Dial-up connections (ISDN lines) can also be used, as can VPN TCP lines or a public internet connection
- The information exchanged is in text form and defined by various standards, such as VDA, EDIFACT, and IDOC.
- EDI data formats are slightly less flexible because of the standards, but these are very commonly used, mainly in the auto industry.
The EDI interface is appropriate for the transfer of the following data:
- Advanced shipping notice (ASN)
- Warehouse receipts
- Express requests
- Dispatch orders
- Up-to date stock levels
- Synchronization of master data (material cards, providers/customers)
- Empty packaging stock management
- Re-packaging
- Reserving materials
- Consignment storage
- Invoicing information
Web services
- Web services are used for SOAP protocol-based electronic communication.
- The transferred data is in XML format.
- Communication takes place over the public internet, but can be secured using the SSL protocol.
- The data format is variable and defined for each input and output using a special description file (WSDL).
- Web services can run either on the client side, on the C.S.CARGO side, or both.
Web services are appropriate fr the following types of information:
In transport:
- Transport orders
- Order confirmation
- Shipment monitoring
- Invoicing
In logistics:
- Advance ship notice (ASN)
- Warehouse receipts
- Express requests
- Dispatch orders
- Current stock levels
- Synchronization of master data (material cards, providers/customers)
- Empty packaging stock management
- Re-packaging
- Reserving materials
- Consignment storage
- Invoicing information
Web portal
- Communication takes place using forms or files published on web pages.
- Data views in web browsers: You can look at the current situation, the state of inventory in warehouses for certain clients, or order deliveries.
- The customer sees the current state immediately without special software. All they need is a web browser, and a computer, notebook, tablet, or mobile phone connected to the internet.
- The EDI web portal allows for direct transport orders or dispatch of certain pallets from the warehouse using the web page. You can also use the tool to monitor the state of the order.
- The web portal is secured using authorization and SSL protocols (signing in to accounts using a username and password).
- You can import or export files from the portal in specified formats (i.e. TXT, CSV, XML, etc.).
The Web portal is suitable for transferring information such as:
In transport:
- Transport orders
- Order confirmation
- The state of the order
- Invoices
In logistics:
- Warehouse stocks
- Express requests
- Material reservation requests
- Invoicing materials
Besides the listed IT solutions, data can also be exported using FTP protocol or email.
The unique LODiS information system
- LODiS integrates information about individual shipments and warehouse inventory throughout C.S.CARGO Group.
- LODiS communicates with all other internal and external systems and GPS units in vehicles.
- LODiS is connected to EDI – Web. All data can be exported to the client's IT system using this service and we will adapt the format to your needs.
Transport management system
To manage customer orders, C.S.CARGO uses its proprietary LODiS information system, which integrates information about individual shipments and online vehicle monitoring. LODiS offers client-oriented statistical outputs and is a tool to reliably manage vehicles and orders.
The driver receives all information, including the route, from the dispatcher before the trip. We monitor each shipment using a series of alarms that alert to deviations from the route, late deliveries, or an opening of the cargo area during transport.
Warehouse Management System - WMS
C.S.CARGO uses its proprietary LODiS information system for logistic management, which incorporates our years of experience and constant development. The system covers the complex range of the supply chain; from storing raw materials and just-in-time (JIT) production deliveries, all the way to warehousing finished products and distribution to end users. Our in-house development team assures the system's flexibility and variability.
Online shipment monitoring
C.S.CARGO's fleet is equipped with monitoring devices that provide information about the vehicle's position 24/7. GPS monitoring also serves to optimize the vehicle's operation and make customer service more effective. This allows us to inform our partners about the current state of the vehicle and react in advance to unforeseen events and changes on the roads. We also offer shipment monitoring services to our clients. A high level of data protection is extremely important to us, which is why logging on to the system always requires a unique partner number and password.
