HEINEKEN chooses the C.S.CARGO Group
Global leader HEINEKEN chooses the C.S.CARGO Group as its carrier.
Prague, 27 May 2013 – Leading brewery conglomerate HEINEKEN has chosen the C.S.CARGO Group, a Central European leader in logistics and transport, as its carrier. The company won out over the competition thanks to its range of services, logistics know-how and cost effectiveness.
HEINEKEN is the third largest brewery conglomerate in the world and the leading European producer of beer. It selected C.S.CARGO as its strategic primary distribution partner to ensure transport for its breweries in Brno, Krušovice and Velké Březno. As a result, HEINEKEN has gone from cooperating with a large number of small carriers to just two major companies, of which C.S.CARGO has a 50% share of the total volume, and three small carriers. This decision was taken in order to improve cost effectiveness and unify operations at the individual breweries.
Ing. Josef Vaverka, Distribution Manager for the HEINEKEN Group for the Czech Republic, had this to say about the selection: “We chose C.S.CARGO thanks to its nationwide coverage. The company best meets our requirements because of its experience, especially in the field of primary distribution for breweries and other soft drink producers, and the flexible provision of one-way and two-way transport. This choice has also improved our cost effectiveness.” He went on to say: “Nevertheless, we still employ the services of other carriers in order to maximise the use of one-way transport and HEINEKEN’s variable requirements.”
Aleš Willert, CEO of C.S.CARGO a.s., says this about the cooperation with HEINEKEN: “We use large, 33-palette trucks to provide the HEINEKEN group with domestic transport between the production factories, distribution centres and central warehouses of multinational chains and wholesalers. Each month, our trucks cover up to 130,000 km with HEINEKEN products. A primary distribution partnership with such a major player means an increase in our turnover by tens of millions of crowns per year.”
The HEINEKEN Group is currently focusing on the optimisation of transport, the maximum use of vehicle capacity, loading and storage during time intervals, process optimisation and the timely takeover and handover of documents. In the future, it will cooperate in the area of environmentally friendly transport, which means making maximum use of EURO V+ vehicles for all types of transport and the related driver training.
The partnering of the Central European leader in logistics and transport with a major enterprise like HEINEKEN came about thanks to the carrier’s superior ability to meet the client’s needs. The C.S.CARGO Group has a new, extensive vehicle fleet that meets the most stringent ecological standards. Furthermore, it is able to flexibly and reliably provide transport in a volume far exceeding the capabilities of small companies. Cooperation with such major companies has made the C.S.CARGO Group the leader among Central European carriers.
